Traces is a British television Crime drama co-created and written by Val McDermid and Amelia Bullmore and was aired on BBC1 on the 4th January 2021.

The drama starred Line of Duty‘s Martin Compston who plays Daniel MacAfee, director of a construction company and romantic interest of Emma Hedges, played by Molly Windsor who plays a lab technician who has moved back to her birthplace of Dundee, for her new job, and in search of answers about her mother's murder.

The drama is set in Dundee but much of the filming takes place in Manchester and Bolton, including the Bolton University quadrangle planted by Kirman Design three years previously.

In this scene, Professor Sarah Gordon played by Laura Fraser is on the phone attempting to sort a problem out with the case. The central stainless steel ball is in the background along with various perennials including Geum chiloense 'Red Dragon' and Camassia leichtlinii subsp. suksdorfii Caerulea Group, Digitalis purpurea ‘Alba’ and Stipa gigantea.

Here, we see Jennifer Spence who plays Professor Kathy Torrence is discussing the case with Dr. Pia Salvador, played by Joana Borja, who plays a forensic scientist and love interest of Professor Torrence. Both stand on the granite block path which is lined with large perennila beds of Stipa gigantea, Digitalis purpurea ‘Alba’ and Hosta varieties.
